The TETRA system shall be capable of passing information tones conforming to [I-ETS 300 245-7] from the PSTN to the user. The TETRA CODEC will have an effect on the tones such that they may become distorted or have modulation products. Because the CODEC is defined by ETSI very little can be done about this effect without resulting in a non-complient CODEC. Therefore the distortion limits shall be ignored for the purposes of this requirement. The distortion should be measured and noted.
